Phone USB tethered PC internet to other PC via Ethernet/LAN



A how-to guide to share your phone's USB tethered internet connection from your PC to other devices connected to your router via LAN/Ethernet, you need to enable internet connection sharing on your PC and then bridge the USB tethering adapter and the Ethernet adapter. 

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Enable USB Tethering on your Phone:
    • Connect your phone to your PC via USB. 

    • On your phone, go to Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering > USB tethering and enable it. 

  2. Configure Internet Sharing on your PC:
    • Open Network and Sharing Center: In Windows, navigate to Network and Sharing Center (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center). 
    • Identify Adapters: You'll see two network adapters: one for the USB tethered connection and one for your Ethernet connection to the router. 
    • Right-click and select Properties: Right-click on the USB tethered adapter and select "Properties". 
    • Sharing Tab: Go to the "Sharing" tab. 
    • Allow other network users: Check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection". 
    • Select Ethernet Connection: From the dropdown menu, select the Ethernet adapter that connects to your router. 
    • Click OK: Apply the changes. 
    • Bridge the Connections (Optional but recommended):
      • Hold down the Ctrl key and select both the USB tethered adapter and the Ethernet adapter. 
      • Right-click one of the selected adapters and select "Bridge connections". 
      • A new bridged connection will appear. 
      • Right-click the bridged connection and select "Properties". 
      • Make sure both the Ethernet and USB tethered adapters are checked in the "Sharing" tab.
  3. Connect Devices to the Router:

    • Connect your other devices to the router via Ethernet cables.

    • These devices should now have internet access through your PC's USB tethered connection.
